چکیده
Barhal Valley belongs to the Çoruh System in Kaçkar Mountains of northeastern Anatolia. This 13 km long valley is located south main weather divide and east Mt. Kaçkar, with highest peak mountain range being 3932 m. Today, source an average yearly precipitation 2000 mm moisture Black Sea, situated approximately 40 north study site. Glaciers Last Glacial Maximum (LGM) descended directly from reached altitude ca. 1850 m a.s.l. (above sea level). In this study, we are exploring whether position its east–west orientation have influence on existence expansion paleoglaciers. Here, present 32 new cosmogenic 36Cl dates erratic boulders System. We reconstructed three geomorphologically well-contained glacier advances Valley, namely at 34.0 ± 2.3 ka, 22.2 2.6 18.3 1.7 ka within time window global LGM. Field evidence shows that advance disappeared rapidly by latest time, 15.6 1.8 upper cirques were ice-free. No for Lateglacial fluctuations was found, Neoglacial activity restricted rock glaciers. A 2700 3000 Equilibrium Line Altitude (ELA) LGM reported based modeling glacial morphology. determined most likely ELA 2900 suggest alternative direct transport Sea ice accumulation Eastern See Mountains. In situ LA-MC-ICP-MS U-Pb zircon geochronology combined with cathodoluminescence imaging were carried out to determine protolith and metamorphic ages of orthogneisses from the Western Tatra Mountains (Central Western Carpathians). The metamorphic complex is subdivided into two units (the Lower Unit and the Upper Unit). Orthogneisses of the Lower Unit are mostly banded, fine- to medium-grained r...
متن کاملInvestigating the spatial distribution of summit flats in the Uinta Mountains of northeastern Utah, USA
Isolated, laterally extensive, gently sloping surfaces known as summit flats are present at high elevations in many Laramide ranges, and are particularly well developed in the Uinta Mountains of northeastern Utah. To investigate the spatial distribution of these surfaces, and to consider possible controls on this pattern, a map of summit flats in the Uintas was developed from digital elevation ...
متن کاملNew Insights into the Effect of Diabetes and Obesity in Alzheimer’s Disease
Abstract Alzheimer’s disease (AD) is the most common cause of dementia in elderly people. The prevalence of Alzheimer diseases is increasing in the world due to population aging. Metabolic disease such as diabetes and obesity play important role in Alzheimer disease. Hyperglycemia can play important role in brain damage. It causes cognitive impairments, functional and structural alterations in...
متن کاملForest Dynamics and Their Phenological Response to Climate Warming in the Khingan Mountains, Northeastern China
The Khingan Mountain region, the most important and typical natural foci of tick-borne encephalitis (TBE) in China, is the largest and northernmost forest area and the one more sensitive to climate change. Taking this region as the study area, we investigated the spatio-temporal dynamics of deciduous broadleaf forest (DBF) and its phenology changes in relation to climate change and elevation. B...
